What’s your favorite elopement venue in Dallas?

I’d have to say the Japanese Water Gardens, especially right now when the leaves are all red / fall-esque. That and the Turtle Creek Mansion have been my faves with Simply Eloped for sure!

What’s a fun fact about you?

I actually grew up in most of Southeast Asia, so I speak English and Mandarin Chinese (although I’m not super fluent any more)!

What do you love about the work you do?

I LOVE being a small part of one of the most memorable moments in a couples life.

What’s your favorite elopement venue in Dallas?

My favorite venue for elopments is probably the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens but there are so many places to choose from it’s hard to really have a favorite.

How to elope in Dallas

Not everything has to be bigger in Texas – especially if you’re planning a Dallas elopement. The sky is truly the limit in terms of all the details you can choose from if you’re getting married in Dallas, but first, you’ll need to follow a few steps before having your elopement come to life!

Finding the right vendors for your Dallas elopement

If there are certain things you’ve envisioned for your big day, now is the time to lay everything out: whether you’re looking for a photographer to capture your day from start to finish, a florist who brings your dream bouquet to life, or a hair and makeup artist who makes you feel like a million bucks, finding the right team is incredibly important. We have elopement packages in Dallas, Texas that takes the stress out of finding the perfect vendors – we’ve done all the hard work for you and have a team of talented vendors ready to make your wedding day the best day of your life.

Where should I plan my Dallas elopement?

Once you’ve sorted through our wedding packages in Dallas, it’s time to nail down a location for your ceremony. Does the lush landscape of a botanical garden strike your fancy? The Fort Worth Botanic Garden has a variety of gorgeous backdrops for an intimate, romantic ceremony. The Dallas Arboretum also boasts 66 acres of lush foliage, vibrant blooms and beautiful pathways that invoke a secret garden vibe. Or perhaps you’re looking for a lovely park that overlooks the Dallas city skyline as your backdrop – in which case, you’ll want to look into Lake Cliff Park, which has a fantastic view of this gorgeous southwestern city.

When is the best time of year to I elope in Dallas?

While you might think of heat and humidity when you think of Texas, Dallas, this southwest state does have a variety of climates throughout the seasons. If you’re looking for a wedding day that’s perfect for an outdoor elopement, consider spring and fall seasons, when climates are generally mild and balmy. Summers can be hot and muggy, and winters can get cold and windy, so if you’re looking to elope in Dallas during those seasons, carefully choose your location spot, and pack accordingly!

What’s the best time of day for a Dallas elopement?

Due to the potential for heat and harsh lighting, we recommend the hours around sunrise and sunset for elopements, especially during the warmer months. If you’re eloping indoors or somewhere with heavy shade, this is obviously less of an issue! If you’re planning on eloping in a public place, however, avoid crowds by planning a ceremony around opening and closing time.

How to legalize your Dallas elopement

After you’ve selected your team and your location, you’ll want to read up on how to make your elopement official. You can apply at any Dallas County Clerk’s office in the state of Texas, as the license is good to use throughout the entire state of Texas. You and your partner must be present when filing the application, and need to have a form of identification (such as a driver’s license or birth certificate), and the cost can vary between $70-$85, depending on which county you choose to file through. There is a mandatory waiting period of 72 hours, so be sure to file at least 3 days prior to your big day! For more information about legalizing your Dallas elopement, click here.
